Line Dancing is a great low impact way to meet others and keep fit. And it begins literally, one step at a time! You won’t need a partner but feel free to bring along some friends and have a lot of fun. Plus, you get to exercise without realizing you are exercising all while learning the latest line dancing moves and some old favorites. Get your exercise the fun way! Build endurance and stamina! No experience necessary, just the desire to move and have fun!

Silver&Fit is a fitness program designed specifically to help older adults achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. If your health plan offers Silver&Fit and you would like more information about Silver&Fit classes, please contact the Webster Recreation Center at 872-7103.

Chair Yoga provides all the benefits of traditional yoga in a very gentle format. All moves can be performed while seated or using a chair for support. This will work on enhanced mobility, strengthening and relaxation. This class is for Lunch Club 60 members only and is free for those members who have submitted a Monroe County Nutrition Program form. Note: This program is funded in part by Monroe County Office for the Aging, New York State Office for the Aging, US Administration on Aging, and participant contributions.

While strawberries are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, Strawberry Shortcakes are rich in deliciousness! Our 55+ friends are invited for strawberry shortcakes at the Webster Recreation Center anytime between 12:45-1:30pm! Please sign up by 6/7 to enjoy a sweet treat with friends!

The Arboretum is a great setting for 55+ friends to get together for summer food and drinks and a stroll around the beautiful grounds. Join us for hot dogs and hamburgers and entertainment. $8 registration is due by July 12th. Please sign up for section A if you'd like a ride on our van.

Monroe County Office For the Aging (MCOFA) has invited us to a ballgame! Come join us watch our local Red Wings baseball team play on Senior Day. This will be a great day for friends and America's favorite pastime! A limited number of FREE tickets (admission and picnic lunch included provided by MCOFA) are available for this 11:05am game, so sign up early. The 10am van departure time is approximate and will be confirmed prior to game day. PLEASE REGISTER BY 5/17 FOR THE APPROPRIATE SECTION NUMBER TO INDICATE WHETHER YOU ARE TAKING THE VAN (A) OR DRIVING YOURSELF (C).

A trained case manager helps residents and their families sort through the maze of available services, benefits, health insurance, etc. and the paperwork that goes with it. The case manager is available here at our center on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 9:00 to 11:00am. No appointment is necessary. Services are offered on a first come, first served basis and sponsored by Lifespan. Funding guidelines limit this service to persons 60 years of age and over and their spouses of any age. Family members of seniors may also seek services for the senior in their life.

Calling all BINGO players! Join us for the fun. Meet some new friends and enjoy playing a game that you love. Registration is free but there is a nominal fee of 20 cents per game. Try your luck and have some fun!! Drop-ins are welcome. Come when you can.

Canasta is an excellent card game played for enjoyment! One reason for canasta’s widespread popularity is its use of wild cards, which make the game high scoring and unpredictable. It involves excitement, laughter, groans, judgement and a bit of luck every now and again. You'll be amazed how easy it is once you start playing. Register with a friend and give it a try!

Rummikub has all the elements that make a great game. It’s easy to learn and fast moving. The “board” changes all the time as players adjust the tiles on the table. It combines luck and strategy and it changes quickly so every player has a chance to win until the very end. The object is to be the first to play every tile on your rack. We welcome you and your 55+ friends to come play Rummikub!

Understanding the importance of boundaries is crucial for emotional and mental health. Julie Stein, a Reiki Master and Wellness Coach, will teach techniques for setting and maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships, work, and personal life empowering individuals to prioritize self-care without feeling guilty.

RocDog is a certified non-profit organization with a simple focus: "To serve in our Communities with our Therapy Dogs and put SMILES on faces whenever we can. We have seen firsthand how a Dog can lighten up a face, bring a smile, get a giggle, and even laugh." Join us for "Dogs and Donuts!" and let us show you first-hand just what a Therapy Dog can do for you. You will have a chance to meet some of these amazing animals and share in a light breakfast treat.

The Senior Singers are always welcoming new members! This co-ed group of 55+ adults enjoys music and loves to sing Broadway show tunes, old standards and holiday songs.

It's a special day for seniors in Monroe County! The 20th Annual Salute to Seniors will be held on Friday August 23, 2024 from 10am - 2pm at Ontario Beach Park. This event is sponsored by County Executive Adam Bello and is meant to honor the valuable contributions senior citizens have made to our community. There will be live music, lunch, and vendors on site. It is FREE, however contributions are encouraged. Registration required by Aug 9th whether you'd like to ride our van or meet us there so that we can plan the correct number of lunches. Our van will be leaving at approximately 9:30am and return at approximately 2pm. Section A tells us you would like to ride our van. Section B tells us that you would like a lunch but will meet us there.

Beginning around the fourth decade, you may start to notice a decreased agility of the eyes to accommodate detailed work. This is a natural change. However, other changes occur that are not part of the aging process. These diseases of the eye include Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Macular Degeneration. This support group was formed to assist those who are interested in learning, sharing, and supporting themselves and others who are experiencing problems and managing their impairment. This group is facilitated by a member, with occasional guest speakers and trips. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month.

We hope to bring older adults a wide range of topics to help keep our minds sharp and alert while meeting new and interesting people along the way.
